5 weeks into Our Dig!

In the last week we have been well busy, we've built up the first quiet a bit it!And the 2nd set got built up and extended to 12 and half foot Making it now the largest of the 4 in the Main, Their now a decent size!
P was their tester and after a hour of messing about with them, a few stacks Lips tweeked etc he got threw at speed, going massive over the last!and lovin it
In his words "Now your Heart beats a lot quicker! Their Wicked, Scary Big, Yeah".Their get a few more tweeks and their be done till winter !!!

Also we built up and finished the New Additions jumps!!!!!!!!! They just wern't getting anywhere with them and summer would of been here before they new it! So we took them over,And made them a little bigger,Well for this week anyway! Now that the lads are near finishin the main pack! they will have to be built up again to match!
Some Whoops and a Manual thing have also been added makin Greenhills a little more fun!at the begining, Ollie Loved them Lol, Scuba's almost finished the Scoop ! You can see the Scoop on the left,in the the picture above Also you can see the man himself chillin after finishing.Taken from the 2nd landing of the gaysection!!!!!
Well after 5 weeks diggin in the sun,seeing all the changes with the jumps and the area we chose, Greenhills is quiet a good relevent name for them as its Very Green up their!!!!! This week we've been begging for some rain so we can tweek and make some proper repairs to the main section, and we got what we were wishing for today a full days worth of Rain! So let the Tweeking begin!

Mixed feelings today,went to the hospital to av stiches out to find out its infected, damm. But as i arrived at Greenhills i was met by the sight off are newest n youngest diggers Sam n Louis jumping the 1st off the new line,big smiles all round, respect.
The 1st in the main pack is ready n looking sweet, 2 is being built up as i write,3 is all good while 4 awaits the landing it deserves. Much needed rain arrived today (thank the Lord) so were be heads down arse's up as we get them ready for the next bout off sun!!!!

So were 1 month into building a set of trails and i thought i'd wright a blog on what it means to me.8 years of riding with the bmxers off the doubleH, lots of talk on building a proper set,and a few lame attemps and finally YES it's happend (at this point heaps off respect to all involed,easy to spot,their the one's with the big smiles at the sk8park) in a month diggin,lots of hard work,blood sweat and tears ,but most of all lots off love...............

I'am 38yrs old,2 awesome kids Jordan 16 n Nicole 14.I drive fuel tankers for a living , 15y.rs in the building trade took it's toll and I wanted to save what was left of a wrecked body for what I lovesss most BMX.Part from time off to have kids etc in early adulthood i'v been riding since the age of 10 and enjoyed all the place's it's taken me,the people i'v met (which some av been life long freinds)good time's and the bad. Dirt is were my love for bmx started, up at Potten End so to finally be building a new begining in the history off BMX in The DoubleH is amazing, Peace n Love

DBC working to get trails in Hemel

Just got back from a meeting with our local council about installing a track and trails in Hemel Hempstead, Meeting went well , we explained what we need and how it would be to the counciler and they all seam keen!, Now myself Carl and Scuba have to put forward for planning permission basically showing the council what we want in the space provided,
The Space is ruffly 40m wide at the top 100m wide at bottom and 75m long on a hill, so it be a good size if all goes well

The Councilers also confirmed £5000 towards the Project,
Unfortunatly I dont 100 %how long this Project will take, but if we get Planning permission granted! it should go threw quickly

Attack of the Emo Clones

What has happenened to the state of riders today ? Yesterday P Bazza Nigel and Barry hit a packed out corby !Big mistake paying the 11quid to ride a unridable park, you could'nt ride anything properly as all the sponser me wanna be's were out trying their double whipfliptricks and going for gold! their were snakes everywhere, riders were cutting others up on purpose!which is never good to see Not only that, and exactly as Nigel said " It looks like the Attack of the Emo Clones, they all got the same bars, their bikes all look the same,they all have the same footjam style and they got the same Womens trousers on, WTF's going on man!" to which we all laughed hard at! But what he said is true as you could see the clone troopers every where !
It was a shame to see as us older rider grew up riding just for fun and the goodtimes only!we would all wait are turn and laugh at each others expence!Riders today come across as if they deserve the extra go in the bowl to do yet another 10 footjams and the same tricks they been doing all day and because?????well i dont no, we all paid the 11 Squids to get in, so get to the back of the cue CLONE!
BMXing is a freestyle sport! which is a good thing! wearing exactly the same pants as your mates, Women pants at that ! is a strange thing which half of us will never understand and probaly dont even wanna, Men wear mens cloths for good reasons, hence, Womens and Men's! each to their own tho hey!.

DBC Update 25 Nov

With the Question of whats gonna happen to long time riding mecca Harrow skate park , Alots been going on. James Hitchcox has taken it upon him self to sort their mess out and has arranged a user group meetin on Monday to deside their plan of action, then on Wensday he has a a meeting with the Council. Things are moving Fast so get to the meeting tommorow to have you say in the matter and show your support ,7pm BurgerKing!
I also notic that Harrow council deleted our comment about keeping Harrow skatepark it was the 6th on down mentioning the forever demanding Olympic games!!!!!Damm you Harrow Council!!!

Yesterday DBCBMX hit Corby and had a good session, DoubleH riders out were; BigP,Darren Lee,James,Olly,Ben,Domoney,Pistol Pete, Rambo, Bonce and the Hitcher!
Did'nt get to see James ride as he were off to a all nighter up at Burnly! but always cool to hook up with him.His got a interview in Ride this month! its some where past the first 30 pages of AD's !go look and check that out!
Pistol Pete had a stack that left him and big P laughing for quite some time.
P messed on the mini mini for most the day, Olly Pulled the no-handed flip and a double front wheel grab flip on the reZ, he were also try Barrell's and were pretty damm close! Domoney, Rode Brakeless and Barspin aired the Jersey extension in the bowl section. We were lucky enougth to watch Ben Wallace messin in the Bowl , he were killing it, thats all that can be said bout that!.
Also while we were up their we got to see Corbys new 70ft wide 14ft high Vert Ramp with A Rez! Vert Heaven in the making! Their Holding a all night Jam on the 8th -9th Dec for it, so get yourself up their,it will be a good one !

In other news,
2 Times KOC winner Darren"The General Lee" Just got back from a trip to Las Vegas. Where he got married to his girlfriend Fran, So we wish them the best in their future together.
The Grandad of Rad Jay Boyd was up in the week telling us about his Surfin adventures and his new sport . Down hill Skateboarding threw the lanes of North Devon!
Harrow Local Bonce will soon be 35 years of age ! and by the sounds of it is having a Birthday ride around the 14th of Dec to Celebrate.
Paul Mckeown and Ross Domony brought some web space for their Project called Archive35, so watch out for that in 2008 .
We hooked up with Ill Advised and had some good talks about the DBC dvd . finally, news that Hemel Hempsteads Skatepark will be getting a 4m x 3m Shelter in the near future. Hopefully HS will give it a Re-paint too.
